This Foaming hand soap recipe is sure to replace all of your hand soaps in your home. With it’s moisturizing ingredients and overall health benefits for your skin. It is a great way to sneak in skincare with everyday tasks!

A few years back I decided to make a switch and start making all of the cleaning and bathing products my myself. This was something that I knew would take a little bit of time. I am happy to say that I have now accomplished that goal!
Why the Switch? Well I was really becoming more aware of what was in the cleaning and bathing products I was using. I also realized how harmful they could be for my health. They contain so many unneeded additives that can disrupt how our body functions. For example, there are claims that antibacterial hand soap contain triclosan which is known for altering your hormones. Not sure about you, but I know for a fact when my hormones get altered. It never ends up well for me.
The very first thing I switched, well you guessed it, foaming hand soap! This was such an easy switch for me. It is gentle on hands. Easy on my wallet, with the added benefit of being super simple to make with just three ingredients.

What’s all in the Foaming Hand Soap
Castile Soap
If you aren’t familiar with castile soap, but want to make the switch to more homemade cleaning and bath products. Well castile soap is about to become your best friend. There are so many different ways to use castile soap and so many benefits. Let me start with the benefits. This natural soap is extremely gentle on your skin but yet is a highly effective cleaner. It is just as effective as a anti-bacterial soap without all the harsh chemicals. Since it is made naturally from oils it is non toxic and biodegradable too! Even better yet Castile soap is naturally hydrating!
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is the other star in this concoction to make it extra moisturizing. It comes with it’s own amazing benefits, one of the most popular being that it fights inflammation. That is why it is so commonly used on sunburn. Another big one is how moisturizing it is. It keeps moisture in the skin and helps boost collagen which is going to help fight aging!

How to make Foaming Hand Soap
Ingredients
- 1/4 Castile Soap
- Water
- 1 tbsp Aloe Vera(optional)
- 10 drops Essential Oils (optional)
Directions
Fill the bottle with castile soap 1/4 of the way. Then add one tablespoon of aloe vera. Fill the rest with water leaving some room on the top. Add essential oils and shake. As simple as that! Now, you don’t have to add the Aloe Vera or Essential oils that is just a bonus. If you want to keep it extremely simple just do castile soap and water.
You will need a foaming hand pump though in order to accomplish the nice bubbly texture. If you would like to use a regular soap pump you can, however it will just be extremely runny. I have used a few different foaming hand pumps of many different types, all did the job. The one I am currently using I got here.
When it comes to the essential oils the ones that I would recommend are as follows.
- Tea Tree – Similar to Aloe tea tree is good on skin with inflammation and is also known to be anti-bacterial.
- Lemon – Has a ton of benefits for the skin antibacterial, but also give the citrus smell of clean.
- Lavender – Has all the amazing cleansing properties but is excellent on sensitive skin. It also has the additional benefits of helping with relaxation and anxiety.
- Sweet Orange – Give that same citrus smell and cleansing as lemon, with the added benefits of immune boosting.
